Keep comming back to this commentary. L1A1 is not a bad rifle. Actually owned a version of it. Also on order list for DS Arms SA58 Medium contour barrel rifle. I do wish that it did have AR-15/M-14 style iron sights. Would be nice if someone would start producing a semi-auto version of the SA-80. I would like to try that rifle. AND YES I AM BIASED TOWARDS AMERICAN RIFLES.

we chose the SA80 over the SLR (FN FAL) it's a much better weapon now that it's initial reliability issues have been sorted. You would'nt want full auto on the fal anyway, as it is too inaccurate.

Hmm in different situations yeah i agree the M14 is better, I like M14 in a sniper role it's very effective and feels good in your hands. But still the SLR is my favourite, Im going to marry someone foreign so i can call my kid FAL lol

Well i hold the SA80 in higher terms now but it still doesen't have a patch on the SLR, Not that i'm much of a rifleman(well marksman in my spare time) my personal weapon is a 120mm cannon lol

Maybe because we can achieve killing shots up to 400m with the SA80, And not to mention the fact scince we got H and K parts for it, It has become a very reliable weapon.
