This was back when George Lucas could actually write a script and get his actors to show some human emotion.

These scenes should have been kept in the original film; or at least included in the SE. They provide some important subtext regarding the Empire, the Rebellion, etc. After all, Lucas included the Jabba scene in the SE and it offered no new information at all.

It mentions the planet Bestine, which is one of the few planets mentioned apart from the ones they go to in the saga.

PLZ PLZ PLZ George Lucas!!! PLZ put these scenes back in the film!!! There are so many people who would feel the same way i do and see that these deleted scenes should be added back into (yes, another) Special Edition of Star Wars Episode IV.

This deleted scene (and others) were first on the CD ROM called "Star Wars-Behind The Magic"

I think a more fitting analogy would be subsidized farming, which has existed in the U.S. since the 1930's.

"Nationalize" doesn't have anything to do with the Empire being a nation, it means private enterprise being taken over by the government. It's the same thing Obama and the Democrats want to do with healthcare. |
