sorry- but clapton plays either blues, rock or some ballad style folk very well,but he could never play true country licks or Jazz or latin styles. I've heard his whole catalog. he was easily surpassed by the mid seventies. And hendrix didn't live long enough to learn or master those styles either. There's a reason why Clapton hired Albert Lee in the late 70's- to play the stuff he can't play. At least he's a humble guy, but his best days were in the 60's.

whats there to argue we all know hendrix is the best guitar player in the world no one has and never will reach his talent i say myself hazel is a absolutely underrated guitar player but will never reach hendrix's peak and yes hendrix is better than clapton

The only reason i kept going and forth was to prove a point. Mer54gull is probably a racist. I think his opinion about clapton being better is based on nothing soley than the race of jimi hendrix. Thats it and thats all...IF you read the convo you will see how dumb he sounds. I just had to get to the bottom of his beliefs. Which is the race of jimi, not his music or playing style
