Ah the good old days, I used to hate the Hearts Idents although kind of miss them now, any more ITV Digital Monkey ads out there?

The black boxes each represent one of the 16 different regions of the ITV network. This footage was recorded when ITV first launched on Sky Digital way back in late 2001, so maybe they used it as a way to identify each region or something? They were only seen during the test transmissions though & were gone before the 'official' launch of ITV on Sky a few weeks later.

I think now Independent Televsion should be named Idiotic Television. ITV Stood for a independent channel with different region idents across the UK but now it's a corporate company and now it's all pointless.
I come from Northern Ireland and lived in Scotland and London and it's great we still have the Ulster Television logo but it was better when we had all the regional idents. It's a sad day for idents IMO.
BBC1 is bland with stupid music, BBC TWO idents are boring the only good ones are C4
