These low prices today cannot last.Peak oil has been reached.Production will only fall from here.Exploration cannot begin until oil returns to at least $100.Even then, society must get away from crude.Obama will rebuild the roads, but there will few cars to ride on them.

Not really. Inflation aside (which I am perfectly aware of the adjustments made from the early 1980's until today), my comment was geared towards the justification of how gas prices can drop by close to 60% (from $4.39 in July to $1.83 today) if the prices weren't artificially inflated to begin with.

So the principals of supply and demand is propaganda?! Idiot......

You obviously failed to understand the concept of inflation and the part where Stossel said if you adjust for inflation, prices were actually higher back then which is true.

This guy is justifying the high price of gas with what it takes to get gas to market (i.e. drilling, etc.). That's bull. We've always had to do that. And prices weren't always so high. I think we are going to see a normalization of fuel prices, probably in the low to mid $2 per gallon range when all is said and done. The price of full dropped in Seattle from $4.35 per gallon to just under $2.00 per gallon in under 3 months. Tell me that the price of gas wasn't artificially inflated.

it doesnt matter who is in office its called supply and demand. demand down= low prices = high demand= high prices. eventhough we should DRILL DRILL DRILL.

aquarius, all politicians care only about themselves. I have yet to see one who cares about the people and still makes wise decisions that do not affect the world or the future in a bad way.

Either you waste a lot of gas, semitar6, or you don't eat a lot of fruits.
jpcash11 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Yes, we can see now. Gas has never been more than what it is now...
And besides, I doubt it would be any different with McCain. Both politicians are among the worst in quite a while. Many people could do better. But who am I to judge, especially when Obama has not served yet?..
