I guess they saw Jim Carey do it with Man on the Moon and thought they'd give it a shot too. The difference was, Carey was playing a comedian, so his transition to playing a more serious role actually worked.
Hopefully they both get the hint and stick to what made them rich and successful.

hahaha good God adam sandler has tried to that for years with movies like punch drunk love. that movie was terrible.

Yeah they should have changed the title from Stranger than fiction to More Boring than Reality!
That movie sucked donkeyass. It was as bad as that Adam Sandler movie Reign Over Me with Liv Tyler and Don Cheadle. WTF are those 2 thinking trying to play morose, depressing characters?

Yeah Old School was pretty good. You really cant go wrong with anything with Will Ferrell. Except maybe stranger than fiction lol.

Anchorman was ok...just not one of my favorite Will Ferrel movies. I liked Old School much better. I still like anchorman, just not as much.

idk anchorman was an instant classic and this one is pretty good too. they were both funny for different reasons. superbad was very vulgar, and anchorman was more off-color humor. so its really hard to compare them.
