By accumulating damage to either of its front legs (not sure about the back legs).
I know Hammer users that specifically target the front legs.

I typically aim for the weak spot: the foremost 'valley' on its back, between the two rows of protruding scales.
However, because destroying the shoulder plates has a small percentage chance of producing a Ruby, I usually end up aiming at the shoulder on its front leg, through to its weak spot. Doesn't need to be exact.
As for the flinching part, it'll sometimes go into rage mode and take less damage, the arrow hits won't always count where they are most effective, etc. It's not a big issue.

Heroics will last as long as you have 10% HP or less.

Complete all of the 'white' 3-star and 4-star quests at the Guild Hall, then the Lower Rank Lao will appear in the 4-star quests. |
