I'm not condemning anybody, but the Holocaust wouldn't have happened if people cared and said "NO! I won't let this bullshit happen!" Instead, they said "Well, the murder of jews doesn't effect me, I don't care". People are fickle, we get swept up in bullshit very quickly. Propaganda becomes fact in the minds of people with a mob mentality and extreme nationalism. If the government says the Jews are evil again and again, eventually, people will start to believe it.

Yes but DO NOT associate the Wermacht, Luftwaffe, Kriegsmarine and it´s brave soldiers and men to the Holocaust cause they dindt made this terrible bloodpath in german history. The Holocaust is not remembered because of when it happened. We remember the Holocaust because we must. It doesn't matter who, where or when. This CAN happen again. As long as there is discrimination and the attitude that "It cannot happen here, it cannot happen to us", there will always be the looming threat of another incomprehensible tragedy. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.
