Miss Gaunt reminds me of the uptight lady with the hairnet in Laugh In.

What I like about this movie is it's similarities to Dead Poets Society, although I prefer that to this.

What makes this so funny is the absolute mutual loathing which hisses beneath professional politeness.

In the book, there were 6 girls in the "Brodie set": Sandy, Jenny, Monica, Mary McGregor, Rose, and Eunice. The movie incorporated elements of the two girls it omitted into the remaining four. Rose was combined with Jenny, and Eunice was combined with Monica. Also, the girl whom Miss Brodie was accused of influencing with politics was not Mary MacGregor but a new girl who hadn't been invited to join the "set", Joyce.

"'Four fifteen'. She thinks to intimidate me with the use of quarter hours!"
My favourite movie of all time. Incredible performances, from both Maggie and Celia. Though of course Maggie has all the best lines. And outfits!

Is there any way you can get this on dvd. It only seems to be available in the region 1 (USA) format.
I saw this on tv for the first time last week and now I am desperate to buy it....but sadly to no avail.
"my my....what will I do without Miss Brodie!
