you are so freaking right on the money. I have met trainers who wont even let you hit the bag very much.

It isn't necessarily better. It depends on what you want to really do. This guy's obviously got a lot of bags to work with so I'm assuming his advice is that the heaviest one is best to just START with. He definitely knows more than I do, but I got a relatively light one so I can work with a moving bag at the same time. Since my bag swings around it'll help with timing and placement.

I would not focus too much on the weight of the bag, especially considering the standing bag will not move as much as a free hanging bag. focus more on your punching techniques

I was looking over some of the comments about the weight of a bag. I was wondering if the same applies for standing punching bags. Im 6'1 225, would a 100lbs. bag be good enough for me?

the most ive seen is 100 but ive heard of 120 but i have also read that anyone over 170 should be alright with the 100 pound bag a 100 pound is usually the best bet
