after you read the books you realize that count olaf isnt nessissarily supposed to be a funny character, therefor making jim carrey play count olaf in the movie is quite a mistake, he's a good acter but is not as good when it comes to serious films or dramas such as this, which should want to make the viewer think of what an amazing life they have compared to three orphans, but instead it made me think, why the hell would I be threatened by a retarded monkey like this?

Lemony Snicket is a pseudonym of Daniel Handler. Arsony is setting something on fire. It even says it in the books. And it's supposed to be about him telling us the research of the Baudelaire children to us through a book. Like a research paper.
