In one of her books, MacLaine briefly discussed the difficulties she had working with Winger. It's probably because they are both intelligent and passionate actresses who merge into their characters... and let's be honest, they're probably both have a bit of the diva syndrome.

Gotta love the '80s! All shoulder pads, poofy hair, naturally-aging faces with gaudy make-up. The handsome man with Debra Winger is Barry Diller, who later spearheaded the Fox network and is now among the richest men in the world.

I agree. She should have won that evening.

One of the greatest speeches ever. It was no secrect she did not get along with Deborah Winger during the filming of this picture. Shirley is one of the last studio contract stars. She is also one of our greatest stars.

Shirley McLaine gave an amazing performance in that movie...and for sure it wasnt so easy when you have to choose among these fab actresses!Merryl Streep for example was great in "Silkwood" |
