Yes - Gergen is one "conservative" that I admire enormously. NEVER takes the side of the right when it is wrong. Thoughtful, clear thinking, and totally himself.

Gergen is absurd.Arguing Obama is outside the mainstream is hardly racist. There is nothing in the least bit racist about saying "my opponent is not main stream in his opinions or associations," and that is clearly all McCain had done. Bush, Kerry, and Gore all made similar arguments about their opponents, though Obama's personal associations make it an easier case to make.One may disagree with McCain's arguments, but to call them racist is absurd.

David Gergen is a good man, always taking the moral and high road. Even if its not in his interest as a moderate republican.He's always been that way. That is why CNN cuts him a fat check every month: He is honest and trust worthy!And thank god for honest and unpartisan people.
