Royster has combined natural talen with discipline. He teaches as well as he plays, an all round good guy. It is improper to compare musicians, let alone drummers. Probably one of the few instruments that reflect total individuality I think. Good post and thanks. Tony keep rockin mate.

tony is een zeer goede drummer vanaf ze jonge jaartjes al en zijn vader is ook een goede drummer geweest!

maybe not soloing, but with music, I think he does, too bad tony royster jr, hasn't been in a band as good as tool, that would show off his ability more.

I kinda agree and disagree.
1) If your born with a natural sense of timing then you can be great any many instruments.
2) But more important then natural talent is practice.

damn man... I think I feel him as a drummer more than any others I've heard. He has elements of jojo mayer, vinnie, and maybe a couple others that I've really liked. Some of the sticking tricks remind me of buddy rich (by a longshot I guess). Fucking sweet! |
