Honestly, are we going to let a few birds stand in the way of environmentally sound energy? How about all the birds that are killed by cars? Not to mention all the other road kill. Are we going to ban driving? Think how many animals will be saved because of less pollution.

not to mention all the birds killed by cars, glass windows on buildings, power lines, oil spills, hunters, domestic cats, land development, boats.. can we identify anymore?

Alas I work at a power station, and am only too aware of the horrible death birds, suffer when they get trapped against the huge air intake grills and can't escape against the suction (anything smaller gets sucked in to the fire-ouch!!), these birds die a slow, terrifying death. About 6 million birds die every year as a result of collisions be it 747's, etc. 3,000 migrating birds died on one night when they flew in to a power plant in fog. Puts wind farms in to perspective doesn't it.

honestly, the more birds that die mean the fewer birds that can fly into airplanes later on.

No kidding man..And millions more birds are killed by hitting stationary Buildiings and Cars...This Gal should live beside a coal station for a few days and see how she likes it..I live in Buffalo NY...We got 7 2mW Turbines on an old shut down Steel mill right in Town..Everyone loves them..They are awesome and somewhat artistic looking...Cooler than hell...Cheers mate..

Crazy talk!! The non-renewable options like coal power cause so many more deaths for humans and animals. get a grip people more wind power everywhere!!!!!

These "animal friend" people have too much free time - perhaps, spend time worry the danger your fellow humans face daily (hunger, disease, crimes, natural disasters, etc.) - Wasting time here people. |
