What is now is Shop Rite was the Avenue I Flea Market, and before that was a Ford Car dealership. Key Foods supermarket is now closed (next to the gas station). Our Favorite pizza place, Toto's Pizza was at the V of the intersection of 20th Ave and Ave I, but it now something else...

I worked CED maintainance on R16/17/26/29/33/142 IRT class cars and R68 before I left transit for heavy passenger rail. The R33 'Silver Bird' is the oldest class car in the fleet and easy to fix if you know your craft.....NO computers! It will be sad to see them go. TA wanted to scrap them but the corrugated stainless steel body remains intact...my beloved 'Rust Birds' had nothing but paint left. You could poke your finger through carbody.
