To this day, it amazes me that Byrd was able to get up from that. He was drooling like a baby when he did, however.

Ibeabuchi had incredible stamina and a nice chin too. His KO punch against future heavyweight champ Chris Byrd sounded like a shotgun blast.

True dat. I wanted to see him fight Lennox Lewis so bad. I really thought he could get to that sometimes fragile chin.

Ibeabuchi would have been the next best thing in boxing. He had it all: Power, skills, footwork, you name it. His battle with David Tua was a classic, both prodigious punchers going all out. Too bad he went insane.

True. Azumah is still the best Afican boxer in history. Too bad Ike Ibeabuchi was too crazy to have a full career. He would've been heavyweight champion easy.

He never had a bad thing to say about anyone, had prodigious skills, tremendous heart, and learned how to punch with power later in his career. Nelson fought in something like 26 title fights, and defended I think nearly that many times. He's a great, best African boxer in history.

Yep. Amazing. Wish Sanchez hadn't died young. No telling how great he could've been.

True, Nelson had 13 fights, but his fight with the (fellow) great Sanchez was amazing.

This is what Fenech gets for crying about the decision in the first fight! An ass whooping!

When Azumah was a young upstart with little experience. By the time Azumah reached his prime, he would've beaten a prime Salvador Sanchez.
