i get sick of hearing Mayweather is a runner when watching a video like this makes it plain to see he is EXCELLENT at fighting in the pocket. Roberto Duran was excellent at fighting in the pocket, and Mayweather can do it and NOT get hit, its great to watch for someone who truly appreciates boxing skills and technique. For the casual, who cares right ?

Who says it has too? Its not like having size is an advantage if the fighter can't use it. You're looking at it from what you see; the physical. And under other circumstances would be true, but again Floyd's a different fighter.Indoctrination to boxing as a toddler ,fighting grown men at the age of 14, the nephew and son of a two time champion and top contender/trainer respectively.I can't see how just been bigger is going to stop him.

Yes, i agree, but there comes a time when pure skill isnt enough, physicality has to make up for it. look at james toney, whose defense really is as good as PBF(no exaggeration), and how he can be physically manhandled by people technically less skilled, but just physically bigger.

As for my comment about tall and big, tall ,lanky fighters are more of a threat than someone built like say a Berto or Clottey. The names are too long to list of fighters who fit that description ,but the most notable that comes to mind are Hearns,Jones and Robinson. Height and long limbs produce more force and torque than shorter albeit stronger ones in general. I understand what your saying though, but in athletes height/length is much more desired than big/width.

Check it Rc..you are saying if if I get what you're saying correct is that physicality i.e. strength wins fights. Which is generally true, when both fighters are on par skill wise. But Mayweather is a different animal and it has nothing to do with size, tall, short, big or small. Mayweather is mentally as he put it "10 steps ahead of a guy" and it shows.

i dont get what your point is, was it just to say clotteys defense isnt as good as mayweathers, which i admit, may have been a slight exaggeration, or was it to dispute my claim that bigger is better than taller? because clottey isnt the only big fighter at welterweight.

Really? So wide chests and fat necks win fights?? Let me get this straight you would rather fight someone as you put it,taller, over someone bigger? I agree with ya on Clottey been very good on the other hand, probably the best thing out there right now..."Defense every bit as good as Mayweather's" ...I would not go that far.

no, he's been beating fighters "taller" than him, not bigger. when i say big im talking about the size of the chest expanded, the size of the neck, and the fist. no the people at welterweight are just to big for him noawadays.

Your logic makes since on the surface, that is until you scratch it. And come to realization that Mayweather has,and has always been, beating fighters bigger than him.
