Why, 50 years after independence, is Ghana, which is rich in minerals and is a stable democracy, still one of the poorest countries in the world? Documentary examines the activities of multinational corporations, as well as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund, to find out whether they have actually made countries like Ghana worse off. And, most importantly, asks how we, as consumers and citizens, can make a difference. ----------- Part 2 of 6: Rice Day in the life of rice farmers, and a look at foreign trade policies.

And remember, their intelligent, healthy, and future hands were the very ones snatched away as slaves - those who could've been their Albert Einsteins, Isaac Newtons, Achemeides, etc. Today, their leaders have to be dictated to by the West, or else they're "dictators". They have to go by so-called "democracy" as if it's a gospel when infact, it means "listening to an exploter's whims". And remember, these were the people who needed no one before to feed themselves. Africa, feel my tears, please!

Why didn't they just send a Whiteman to replace Beckford? He is ridiculous. He loves making small of these people. He also seems to forget that he is in a very "remote" Muslim village (Muslims being the poorest people in the country). What does he expect, BMWs and excesses? If he wants to highlight the IMF's exploitation of the country's economy, great! But does he have to whine and relegate these people's lives to garbage? In this sense, he is like your typical white guy.

Free trade means, that the rich are free to trade with the poor. That is not really free too me, that is exploitation.

This is sooo sad. Africa already has it's own personal issues to overcome, yet it still has to deal with issues from abroad. Foreigners disrupt the growth of the African nations.
