I first saw this a couple months ago and made my roommate watch it. After wards we discussed it and both agreed that the mother shot herself; the stain on the wall is a blood stain. That's why when the boy was in his bed he was saying "Mom" and touching the stain...I assume his father was too depressed to even leave the house after such an event.

Well I thought the stain on the wall was just black mold. And didn't he kill the dog because he was suffering? Maybe he could've helped the dog IF he left the house, but that's just something that he can't do for some reason, so he'd just rather let him die, and probably did the same with his wife.

well, the fact that he doesn't leave his house shows a lot of abnormality in his behavior. Perhaps the child does know what occurred, but loves his father, so doesn't want to believe it, or think it was wrong, at least. Either way, it's very interesting.

QUESTION: Did the man kill his wife? I think he did. The boy's question at the end implies HE'S thinking in that direction, but there's nothing in the man's disposition showing the slightest bit of evil. However, there's that unexplained stain on the boy's wall which he clutches with association to his mother. I think that's blood and he also witnessed his Mom's murder without revealing it to his father. I feel bad judging the man like that, because I WANT to believe he's good. Any thoughts?
