MDTV: Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery
Spine Surgeon, Dr. Choll Kim explains how new advancements in techniques and technology have led to spine surgery through smaller and smaller incisions. Surgery causes tissue damage, and the more tissue damage leads to more pain and loss of function, so reducing tissue damage in surgery leads to better function and less pain. Viewers will hear from Dr. Kim, Dr. Steven Garfin, Chair of UCSD Spine Surgery, and two patients who had minimally invasive procedures. Sylvia, had an endoscopic laser discectomy. And Tammi had a spine fusion.

Very informative. I might have to break my back just to see if these procedures are really what they say they are.
