down on the upside is actually my least favorite soundgarden album. for me, superunknown was their creative peak. every song on that album is so powerful and inspired (except for kickstand which is kind of a joke song). but he makes some good points here.

cornell is a fantastic singer and he definitely has some neat ideas up his sleeve, but he needs other creative folks to muscle up with him
he's at his best a team player kind of musician. just like john lennon needed the beatles and ozzy osbourne needed black sabbath
i.e. he needs a new post-metal band to roll with

i saw him a few months ago at the projekt rev show and he sounds better than ever. he even did Hunger Strike. he smoked during the soundgarden era and he quit during audioslave and now he sounds even better than before.

a soundgarden temporary reunion tour would be nice. but what i really want is for him to get back with my other idol, Morello, and reform AUDIOSLAVE!

it would be amazing to see one last show from them

Dont be cocks, euphoria morning was a fantastic album, but I wouldnt even try to denie that the new one is bland. Chris is the best singer in whole universe of rock and he can go back to it whenever he likes.

I loved Soundgarden. But honestly, does anyone think Chris can still sing like he did back then. I hope so. |
